ExpoFriends Moon Day Party on 21st of September --- Opening ceremony of "”

On the occasion of 2010 Expo a traditional Chinese festival ---Moon Day, PAROS invited guests and members, governors of Shanghai and Pudong New Area celebrated the Moon festival together in the evening of 21st September. About 200 People from over 20 countries, including Canada, Norway, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Poland, DPR Korea, *AZE (The Republic of Azerbaijan), Albania, Angola, Brazil, China, Paraguay, Serbia, Slovakia etc, joined the Moon Day Party, which was one of our biggest Directors' Salons.
Ms. Min Xu, Deputy Director of Political News Department of Jiefang Daily and Mr. Jianping Liu, Deputy Director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Shanghai People’s Government gave the welcome speech. Afterwards Barbara Helm, director of Canada Pavilion and Arild Blixrud, Commissioner General of Norway Pavilion gave presentations about their pavilions and countries. Canada’s theme for Expo 2010 is “The Living City: inclusive, sustainable, creative. Norway's pavilion theme is "Norway, powered by nature." Both themes are based on the overall theme of Expo 2010, “Better City, Better Life”. The audience was very impressed by the wonderful presentations.
The highlight of the event beside the international guests was the opening ceremony for the new Web platform “”, which was opened by Mr. Haibo Dai, Chairman of PAROS, Deputy Secretary of CPC Pudong Committee & Deputy Governer of Pudong New Area, and the representatives from Africa, Latin America and Europe. The Shanghai Chinese Orchestra accompanied the dinner with traditional Chinese Music with Erhu, Pipa, Dizi and Gu Zheng. The delicious moon cakes were given from the Chinese friends to the Western friends, the atmosphere of the party was harmoniously, and everyone enjoyed the evening.
